Dehors-Dedans / Outside–Inside, Twenty Suns

François Gaulier présente une installation immersive composée de 46 arches de laines sur plus de 150 m2. Réalisée avec 10 pelote de laine, l’installation artistique emplit l’espace de la chapelle et interagit avec l’environnement.

Suspendus sous la voûte, les fils évoquent des formes naturelles – dunes, vagues, gouttes d’eau – tout en contrastant avec la structure métallique rigide du bâtiment. L’utilisation de la laine, matière souple et fragile, souligne la vulnérabilité tant de la nature que des constructions humaines.

François Gaulier presents an immersive installation composed of 46 wool arches covering more than 150 m². Made from just ten skeins, the work fills the chapel space and interacts with the surrounding landscape.

Suspended under the vault, the threads evoke natural forms—dunes, waves, drops of water—while contrasting with the rigid steel framework of the building. The use of wool, a supple and fragile material, highlights the vulnerability of both nature and human constructions.

Light entering through the upper windows floods the chapel, creating the effect of “twenty suns,” a metaphor that recalls our shared dependence on a single Earth.
